De svenska matchracingseglarna Olof Lundgren och Jakob Gustafsson som seglar med Keith Swinton och Tem Black Swan, plockade i helgen hem en bronspeng i matchracing världscupen i Frankrike. Svenskgänget hade en tuff semifinal mot totalsegrande team Ian Williams, där man kom tillbaka från 0-2 underläge men sen snöpligt fick se sig slagna i den sista avgörande matchen. Ian Williams fortatte sen till finalen där han besgrade Nya Zealands William Turner.

Ian Williams som återigen är världsetta efter denna seger var väldigt nöjd efter segern i det tunga regnet!

“We’re super happy to get the win,” said Williams. “It was one of those days where everything was changing very, very fast, especially the wind shifts. We got a few more of the important things right than he did today. In those conditions, if you can’t concentrate on the details, you need to get the big stuff right. It was good for us that we didn’t have to go out and win another one but I think we would have if we’d had to.”

Team Black Swan tog sig an Laurie Jury i matchen om tredjepris. Där lyckades de besegra sin motståndare och gå hem med bronspengen runt halsen samt 19 nya världscuppoäng, det gör att man nu är trea på rankingen.

Keith säger så här efter segern i bronsmathen:

“Those were tricky conditions but we managed to put the early pressure on with a penalty. We took the lead on the downwind and once we were ahead, we pushed on.
 
“We’re pretty happy with third and I think it’s well deserved. We pushed Ian [Williams] hard in the Semis and were maybe unlucky not to get to the Final.”
