The summer’s star studded windsurfing camp

1 AV 3

Based in Dahab on Egypt’s windswept Red Sea riviera, JP-Australia have teamed up with the Harry Nass Surf Action Centre to present a windsurf camp with a difference. Having secured two of the PWA’s top slalom racers, Robby Swift and Micah Buzianis, the camp aims to equip budding slalom sailors with all the tricks, tips and inside info they’ll need to become faster on the water.

Running from the 20th to the 27th of August, the camp has also enlisted the skills of Dirk Muschenich, former German Slalom Champion, plus Harry Nass and his team to help tweak and tune sailors’ technique.

The organizers are keen to emphasise that you don’t have to be a semi-pro or slalom racer to sign up, though they are still welcome. The camp is targeted at people who are passionate about windsurfing, enjoy speed, perhaps want to refine their gybing, dabble in a bit of racing or just sail with a group of likeminded people.

The camp’s official press release states the following:

In groups of a maximum of 10 people you will find out about how to:

- trim and fine tune your equipment
- get faster (GPS)
- improve your jibing and bring it to perfection
- gybe around a buoy in the middle of a racing fleet
- do Lemans beach starts
- do boat starts
- get your body ready for slalom and speed (Gym, Nutrition)
- win races
