Ten of the world's top sailing teams compete in the grand prix sailing tour, racing some of the world's fastest and most extreme sailing machines and entertaining over 200,000 spectators in six European nations. Robertson is the only woman skipper on the tour which includes crew who have won over fifty sailing world championship titles between them. After 108 races the 2009 Championship winner wass not decided until the closing seconds of the final race at the final event in Almeria, Spain.

The Extreme 40s are taking the sailing world by storm. Six teams including Shirley Robertson's Rumbo Almería, Double Olympic Gold Medallist Roman Hagara onboard Red Bull Extreme Sailing Team and two teams from Oman - Masirah and The Wave, Muscat, have just returned from the second of the inaugural Extreme Sailing Series Asia racing in Hong Kong and Singapore. The final leg will be in Muscat, Oman 1-5 February.
